Hi List,

I'm posting this for a friend of mine who does not have internet access. We
would appreciate any help anyone can give. We are trying to find more info.
on the below surname. We haven't been able to find either of the 2 marriages
for Elisha BURKE, nor marriages for the children. We checked marrriages in
Mecklenburg Co., NC and came up with nothing for Elisha. If anyone is
researching this line that can offer some direction, we'd certainly
appreciate it.

Elisha BURKE/BERKE Soldier - American Revolution

Elisha BURKE/BERKE applied for revolutionary pension in 1825 while living in
Marion Co., TN.
He was born in 1755. Lived in Mecklenburg Co., NC at the time of enlistment.
Served under Captain MOORT and Colonel LITTLE.
In 1825 he had two children: Alfred Cameron BURKE (16 yrs of age) and Keziah
BURKE (14 yrs of age).
He was 80 yrs of age in 1835, when he married for a second time, and was
killed by his second wife, who was arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced
to the penitentiary.
