Hi Jean and all,

There is a Robeson County Genealogical Society, but right now it is in name
only. We organized the society last year for the sole purpose of putting
together a Heritage Book for Robeson County.  We do have a Constitution, but
right now there are no dues, no newsletters, no correspondances, and no
society meetings, but only Robeson County Heritage Book Committee Meetings to
work on the book.  

Once we get the heritage book completed, we will start having meetings, and
vote to redirect the societies focus from the book to other avenues of
genealogical interest.

As to the Heritage Book, we are told that it promises to be one of the better
ones in the heritage book series. We have an excellent history section,
government [including the county commissioners collection of photos of all
available past county commissioners since 1868], Education, organizations,
historic places, scenes of Robeson [old photos], and a family section with
nearly 800 family articles represented.
