Surname: Evers, King, Shehen, Whitaker

Hello,
My great grandfather was William Shehen and he married a lady named Jane
Whitaker. They were both born about 1860 and were married about 1880. The
only children I have listed for them are Bessie Henretta and her twin brother
Frank/Francis born about 1881-1883. Also a daughter named Bertha (no year
of birth for her). These children were born in Lancaster, S.C. from what
I was told. I know that Bessie married Aaron Evers and by the early 1900's
she was living in Laurinburg, N.C. as that is where her children were born.
Jane Whitaker's parents were Levi/Levie Whitaker and Sarah (no last name
for her). I was also told that William died while the children were quite
young and that Jane remarried a man named George King and he helped her
raise the children as if they were his own. My only problem is I don't
know if the children continued to go by the name Shehen or if they decided
to take the last name of Mr. King once their mother had remarried. If any
