This is my first post to this list and I need some help as to where to
search for information. My 3rd ggrandfather Thomas Morton was scottish
and was a navy sailor on a slave ship. I don't have any exact dates
except that he settled in Person County, N.C. and married. My 2nd
ggrandfather was born in Person County on July 5, 1846 and an 1870
census record shows Thomas living with his son George age 24. Now my
question:
Where would I have to search to find a list of deserters or ship
manifest for the Scottish Navy in that time period? Any help will be
greatly appreciated.
