Hello listers:
Jon Morrison inspired me to ask a similar question. I know that
my McDonald/McDaniel (apparently they used both names)ancestors were in
America by 1695. They were Scots, but came from Ireland. I don't know
when they left Scotland for Ireland, maybe during the "Plantation"
period. I'm not sure when that was, so if someone could advise when or
if not, where I could look for that info. Also what was going on in
Ireland in the late 1600's that prompted the Scots to come to America?
I'm not sure if they went first to Virginia, but they were in NC shortly
thereafter. Thanking you all, in advance for any & all help or info.
