my gggg grandfather, elijah murray, was born about 1777 and lived in randolph
co. nc.

i am attempting to tie my grandfather toan elijah nurray who was born in ma.
about 1756 and died in new york. i have noticed that the ancestors of many
north carolinians of that time period (late eighteenth century seem to have
migrated from new york, massachusetts, maine, etc. possibly due to the
revoluntionary war.

does anyone have anything to support such a premise or am i "barking up the
wrong tree"?
