Subject: Will the true Jacob Arney please stand up

Jacob Arney is a key player for my branch of the
Arneys as well. He holds the key to who his father is,
and therefore the next branch of my Arney tree. I know
that my branch of the Arneys leads to Peter Arney who
was born in 1772 in Tryon County, NC (he later moved
to Wythe County, VA in 1790, and finally settled in
Overton County, TN after 1800 and died in 1845) Peter
Arney's father, Jacob Arney, is THE source of much
controversy. My Jacob Arney passed away in Lincoln
County, NC in 1784 (leaving behind a will dated 1782
that is in the North Carolina State Archives). Where
was Jacob Arney born? Did he always live in NC? Who
was his father? Where did his father come from? Who
was Jacob Arney's wife (or wives)? We know that Jacob
Arney moved his family to Tryon County, NC in 1767
near Bethania. I'm trying to find definitive tangible
proof of both of these men's existence (Peter and
Jacob). Also to find the same on Jacob Arney's father,
whoever he happens to be. Frederick Ernigh was thought
to be the father of Jacob Arney, but the time line
(due to evidence presented about tax records, etc.)
seems to indicate that would be an impossibility. Any
light you can shine on these subjects would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you for your time, consideration,
and cooperation in this matter.

Stanley Arney Wichita, KS Researching my Arney heritage, looking for definitive tangible proof of each of their existence, so we KNOW the truth and can share it with others. Building a website that will make it easier for those who come after me to find their Arney lineage.
