Hi,
For those of you that are not signed up for the Wholly Genes Newsletter,
I have copied it below. No new update but the TMG v5 Users Guide(manual)
has been released and available for download in pdf format. For those that
would like a printed copy, buy yourself a ream of paper and you can print it
out (g) - it is over 400 pages, over 200 double sided. Or you can wait
until the CD is released and you will receive the CD and a printed manual.
Another alternative! If you let me know quickly, I will bring some manuals
on floppy(s) to the meeting on Saturday.
Paul

=== TMG v5 Users Guide =====================
The TMG v5.x Users Guide is now available for download from
<http://www.whollygenes.com/files/tmg5ug.pdf> (991k).
It is an Acrobat (PDF file) of 397 pages plus a 37 page index. If you
don't have Adobe Acrobat to read the file, you can download the reader for
free from <http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html>.
If you purchased TMG5 Gold Edition from Wholly Genes or registered it with
us at <http://www.whollygenes.com/register.htm>, then a printed copy of the
Users Guide will be shipped to you when the CD-ROM is ready. Both are
included in the purchase price. In the meantime, we've made it available
as a download in response to popular request.
=== TMG v5 trial version =====================
A free 30-day trial version of The Master Genealogist is now available for
download from <http://www.whollygenes.com/files/tmg5setup.exe> (25
megs). During the 30-day trial period, this is a fully functioning copy of
TMG Gold Edition v5.07. If it is not purchased within 30 days, it becomes
a read-only TMG reader. Tell your friends!
==== National Genealogical Society Conference ====
This week some representatives of Wholly Genes Software will be in
Pittsburgh, PA, for the National Genealogical Society (NGS)
Conference. See <http://http://www.eshow2000.com/ngs/>. If you are
attending the conference or in the area (Wed-Sat), please stop by Booth
#100 in the Exhibit Hall and meet Lissa Soergel, Barbara Grembler, and Bob
Velke.
You might also catch a glimpse of famous TMG experts John Cardinal (who
will be demonstrating new features in Second Site) and Lee Hoffman (who
might be convinced to autograph copies of his book) at the Wholly Genes
booth.
If you are resistant to long downloads, then pick up a copy of the "NGS
2003 Conference CD" from Wholly Genes. This free CD includes trial copies
of TMG v5.07, Second Site, and GedStar Plus, as well as the latest versions
of John Cardinal's TMG Utilities and On This Day. It also includes an
electronic copy of the TMG Users Guide referenced above.
NGS is also hosting three hands-on TMG workshops at the conference:
Beginner (Wednesday), Intermediate (Thursday) and Advanced (Friday). The
instructor is Bob Velke, President of Wholly Genes Software. Seats are
$50.00, but only a few seats are remaining. The Intermediate workshop is
sold out.
Lastly, the large-format printer will be at the Exhibit Booth and will be
printing free charts, as is our tradition at NGS conferences. Bring a
chart that you have designed and saved (in VC2 format) on a floppy or
CD-ROM, and we'll print it for you so that you can take it home from the
conference. This offer is limited to charts that are less that 12 feet
long and have a white background. While supplies last!
=== TMG Around the World ===================
A milestone was met recently with the addition of a TMG user from
Estonia. The Master Genealogist is now in use in more than 50 countries
around the world!
