Our TMG meeting in APRIL turned out to be very productive. In addition
to
bringing some of our new users up to speed, we were able to cover a number
of the new features that have been added in version 5.12 that had to do with
setting Preferences. There are a lot of new features in this update and
version 5.13 was released a few day ago with more Preference Items. We will
start May's meeting with a quick review of the changes in these revisions
and then go on to our meeting topics.

Meeting Topics:

Topic 1: Backup

We will start with the new backup process, the Backup Wizard, and
setting up the NEW Custom Toolbar option to backup with one click using a
saved backup configuration. I feel it is very important for all to be
comfortable with this new process since we use it every time we enter data
and the process is very different from previous versions. You do backup
with each entry session, yes?

Topic 2: Introduction to sentence structure

We will get started with an introduction to sentence structure using the
individual narrative report to test the outcome. For those that prefer the
keyboard to the mouse, we will explain the importance of the right mouse
button in formatting sentences. This introduction will allow us to move
forward into the use of Custom Tags, Roles, Witnesses and, eventually,
Custom Census Tags.

Meeting format: A short initial meeting to include Q's&A's followed by
Topics 1 & 2.

Laptops: It is important that you bring your laptop, if you have one, and
bring a copy of your database, *.sqz, for those that do not. You need to
work with your database and your configuration to let us help meet your
needs and solve your issues.

Topics: The topics are still yours to suggest and you will choose the topic
that best meets your needs. Popular topics can be repeated in later
meetings so you won't be torn by the choices but we will build on each topic
as we move forward.
