I've "rescued" an old photograph of Maggie M. DUDLEY of Liberty,
Pennsylvania which was taken at the McCollin Studio in Williamsport, PA.
The photograph is dated Aug 1883 with Maggie appearing to be in her 20's at
the time it was taken. The back of the photograph is signed "Respectively
Yours" along Maggie's name and hometown as if Maggie gave the photograph to
someone as a gift.

Based on limited research and thanks to a DUDLEY Family Researcher I was
able to gather the following information regarding Maggie and her family:

Margaret M. DUDLEY was b. 1 Dec 1859 in Jackson Township, PA to parents
Mathias or Mathew N. DUDLEY (b. 1 Sept 1830 in Chemung Co. NY) and Jane
Nancy Maria MCCRACKEN (b. 1 Mar 1833 in Morris Co. NJ).

Margaret and her two sisters were placed in the "Soldiers Orphanage" on 10
May 1869 and remained there until 1 Dec 1875, most likely after the death of
their father.

Maggie (age 29 from Liberty, PA, dau of Nancy DUDLEY) married Elijah Paul
ROGERS (age 30, from Watkins, NY, son of Henry ROGERS & Margaret HARRIS) in
Tioga Co. PA on 13 Dec 1889. Elijah was listed on the marriage certificate
as a Painter and Maggie a Dressmaker. Maggie DUDLEY ROGERS d. in 1931 in
Dix, NY, her husband Elijah died the year prior, both are buried in the
Glenwood Cemetery in Dix.

Daughter Orpha M. ROGERS married Samuel Wait BAGLEY (son of Leroy W. &
Sallie M. BAGLEY) in 1912 in Wilmington, NC. They had daughters, Miriam O.
and Margaret Ann BAGLEY born in Guilford Co. NC and Wake Co. NC. Orpha
ROGERS BAGLEY d. 6 Sept 1974 in Raleigh, NC.

Son Dudley ROGERS d. 13 Jul 1936 in Dix, NY

Son Elijah Paul ROGERS married Beulah Lee FOX (dau of Robert FOX and Addie
EVANS) in 1923 in Wilmington, NC. They had one child, a daughter Margaret A.
ROGERS b. 1925 in Wilmington, NC. Elijah Paul ROGERS d. 28 Feb 1978 in
Wilmington, NC.

I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that Maggie's photograph
can be returned to the their care. If you are a member of this family, or
you know someone who might be, please contact me.
