JONESVILLE - Jimmy Lee Cook, age 82, of Jonesville, went home to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 after a lingering illness. Jimmy was born in Yadkin County on April 1, 1926, to the late Marvin Parker and Clara Adams Cook. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a Charter Member of Bible Baptist Church in Jonesville, and served in the United States Army. He was owner and operator of Southside Garage in Jonesville, for over 50 years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife , Lucille Templeton Cook, and two brothers, Garvey and Marvin Junior Cook. He is survived by a daughter, Judie Clark of Jonesville and a son, Harold Cook and wife Brenda, also of Jonesville. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Talmadge Blackburn, Jason Cook, and Patrick Blackburn; also two great-grandchildren: Caleb Blackburn and Kathryn Blackburn, sisters; Gertie Weatherman of Jonesville, Violet Doss, of Greensboro, Magdalene Gill!

Mr. Cook is also survived by his second wife, Mildred Lyon, and her children Jeff Lyon and Sherry Wallam and their families. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 25, 2008, at Bible Baptist Church, with Rev. Courtney Crowson, Rev. Dwayne Lankford, Rev. Jim Wyatt, and Rev. Jeff Lyon. officiating. Mr. Cook will lie-in-state from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in church cemetery with full Military Rites by Yadkin VWF Post 10346. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Ste. 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030, or the Mission Fund at Bible Baptist Church, 5933 Highway 21 South, Jonesville, NC 28642, in memory of Jimmy Lee. The Cook Family will receive friends Wednesday evening, September 24, 2008 from 6 to 9, at Bible Baptist Church. A special thanks to Mt. Valley Hospice and HCMH for !
