WINSTON-SALEM Ruth H. Reece July 2, 1928 - Feb. 16, 2012 Ruth H. Reece passed peacefully on to join her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from complications of congestive heart failure. She was born in Yadkin County on July 2, 1928. Her parents were the late Herbert and Callie (Brooks) Hudler of Boonville, NC. She played girls basketball for Boonville High School and graduated in 1946. She had lived in the Oldtown community for 56 years and for the last 5years had resided at Vienna Village with her husband of 65 years 10 months, Harvey. She loved her Lord and was a member of Becks Baptist Church for 56 years. She taught second grade Sunday School there for many, many years and loved to help decorate the church especially the fellowship hall. Mrs. Reece was devoted to her family and loved to see them visit. She created years of precious memories especially Christmas and Thanksgiving decorations and feasts. Mrs. Reece was co-owner with her husband of Oldtown Fab!
ric Center and Oldtown Drapery Shop. She loved to sew and made many of her and her daughter's clothes. She had a love of fine fabric, miniature knives, rabbits and the Jan Karon Mitford series. As we celebrate her homegoing, she leaves behind her beloved and devoted husband, Harvey Robert; daughters, Brenda Kiser-Hansen (David), Linda R. Tuttle (Mike), and Joan R. Reese (Cleve); grandchildren, Spencer C. Kiser (Joann), David M. Tuttle (Megan), Amanda B. Kiser (Chris), and Douglas H. Tuttle (Laurie); and great grandchildren, Beckett C. Tuttle, Reece D. Tuttle, Ella I. Kiser, and Aaron F. Tuttle. The family thanks the wonderful staff of Vienna Village for their compassion, care, and loving kindness. A funeral service will be Monday, February 20, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Becks Baptist Church with Dr. Karl Minor officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 19, 2012, 4 to 6 p.m., at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel. Interment will follow service in the church cemeter!
