Virginia,
The only Hugh McBurnie I've ran across was in Nebraska-1900 McPherson Co.,
and 1910 Custer Co.

1900-McPherson Co., Nebraska
Head: Hugh McBurnie W/M b. May 1850, age 50, Married 14 years; born in
Canada(Eng) father born Canada(Eng); Mother born Canada(Eng); immigration
year 1888; occupation Ranch Laborer.

Wife: Maggie W/F b. May 1880; married 14 years
born in Canada(Eng); same for parents. Immigration year same as husband.

Included in this household is:
Ward McBurnie border W/M b. May 1871 age, 29 single; born in
Canada(Eng); same for parents. Immigration year 1899; occupation Farm
Laborer.

In the 1910 Fed census for Custer Co, Broken Bow Twp. Hugh is listed as a
widower; all else is the same other than his age (59).

I could not find him in the ND census though. Do you have an idea of where
he might have been in ND?
