The 1898 journey of Andrew and Marie Larson and their small daughter Anna from Leaf Mountain, MN to Cavalier County by covered wagon took 17 days. Their other children were Myrtle (Mrs. Arthur Evans), Carrie (Mrs. Jonas Pederson), Eddie and four who died in childhood. The Larsons lived on their homestead 64 years. Marie, born in Minnesota in 1876, died in 1937. Andrew, born in Varmland, Sweden in 1875, died in 1962.
