I'm happy to announce the North Dakota Family Group Sheet (FGS) project. It's my privilege to be managing it, and I hope to be very busy adding family group sheets submitted by all of you.

The URL for the page is http://www.rootsweb.com/~usfgs/northdakota/ . I think you'll find the page easy to read and use, but if you have questions or problems, please let me know. The USFGS home page
(http://www.rootsweb.com/~usfgs/) links to Family Group Sheet sites in all 50 states.

I hope you'll take advantage of this new project. Those of us who have been working to bring it to you are very excited about its
possibilities. Any family group that lived in North Dakota, even for a short time, can be posted. THE ONLY NORTH DAKOTANS WHO CANNOT BE POSTED ARE THOSE WHO ARE LIVING.

Each family group sheet provides space for basic information about father, mother, and children; so if you only know about one family unit, you know enough to put the information up. If you know more, you can add other family group sheets: the father's parents and siblings, the mother's parents and siblings, the children's spouses and children, and on and on. If you've traced the family on into Montana, Idaho, and Washington, you can post your group sheet in those states as well as Iowa. But just one family sheet in one state can be enough to make new and exciting connections.

We've prepared the pages and forms, added search engines and links, and now it's in your hands. There are hundreds of family group sheets already posted on states from Alabama to Wyoming and thousands of hits on the pages. Please send in your FGS too. The more information we have, the more valuable the project will become.

I'll be waiting for your family to turn up in my mailbox!
