Hello,

Check out the following site: http://www.state.nd.us/hist/sal.htm It is
the ND State Archives located in Bismarck. This web site will tell you all
of the newspapers that they have. Yes, Douglas & Stanley had/have
newspapers. (Stanley is still printed) You will see which towns had
newspapers and which dates are available on microfilm either at the archives
or through interlibrary loan. To find which papers they have go to
<newspapers>, then <listing of North Dakota Newspapers>. There they are
broke down by county (so you would need Ward & Mountrail).

If you don't know when or where they died, perhaps there has been a cemetery
indexed that may be of assistance to you. That may help you narrow down
your newspaper search as well.

Good luck,
Annette
