I am from the Stutsman Co. area and am familiar with the name. I think some of the Bartkowskis might have also lived in Barnes Co. I've done a quick search for you. Hope it helps. Under Rural & Village Cemeteries at this link http://www.usgwarchives.org/nd/stutsman/stutsman.htm
(Surname A-F) you will find many "Bartkowskis" I also wonder if some of the "Bartowski" entries haven't just been mispelled. I knew a Lottie (Lieselotte?) Bartkowski or Bartowski (as per Rural & Village Cemeteries listing) growing up She delivered cream to us.:-) When I cross checked with Family Search.org http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=ancestorsearchresults.asp I had success searching for the name "Lieselotte Bartkowski" - we called her Lottie. I am originally from Wimbledon.

Anyway, the first website I gave you (which includes just name and page number) are entries from a book called "Rural And Village Cemeteries of Stutsman County". Posting a "look up" on this Stutsman Board may produce results as there are some private copies of this book that people have. If you are not successful you could try the James River Genealogy Club http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ndjrgc/aux1.htm#Services who will help you for a small donation. OR you could TRY e-mailing the Alfred Dickey Public Library. They have a copy of this book & will some times help you with information if they have the time. http://www.adpl.org/

The information from the "Rural And Village Cemeteries of Stutsman County" usually includes all information that is on the tombstone. Good Luck!
