I grew up in NE and one thing I remember well is: You should be in Hastings!

In NE 1920 I found only a Thomas Buchanan, wife was Edna, age 28 born NE, no
children in household. The only Buchanan found in Adams county was William
and he was an inmate in a hospital for the insane.
