WEAVER, John L., listed on the 1880 Fed. Census as born in Ireland, was
listed on marriage records as being born in New York.
John L. WEAVER was the son of William Weaver and Alpha Houghton. His age
was not listed. He married Lucratia Cramer of Maple Creek, Nebraska, age
17, on August 12, 1870. The 1880 census lists four children,
Lealand, m, 9; Alpha F., f, 5; Ruie E., f, 3; and Lottie, f, 1.
In 1894 they apparently lived in South Dakota, as a newspaper article on
her fathers death said she would be returning to Hill City SD.
I found a reference to a John L. Weaver in SD, Vol 4 Issue 3 Page 111
of the South Dakota Quarterly and it shows a John L Weaver on the 1890
Civil War Veteran's Census from Custer County, SD. Data showed that he
served from New York and at the time of the census, he has a residence in
Hermosa, S D.
This is possibly the same John L Weaver. I would like any information
anyone out there might have on this family.
Lucretia (Lucratia) Cramer WEAVER was my great aunt.
Thank you much! Karon Mazie Okanogan, Washington
