Just to let all listees know my Nebraska connections, maybe they may
connect with yours:
DOWNEY-these were immigrants from Tipperary Co IR who started out in
Schuykill Co. Pa then to Iowa and Homesteaded in Merna, Custer Co NE in
1870
The DOWNEY'S are connected to JONES, who were from Wales to PA to
Mineral Point, WI then homesteaded in Clay Co, IA;
to SWEENY, who were also from Tipperary Co. IR

DOWNING-this family came to the US from IR in the 1700's, then to MD>VA>
Clark Co. IN abt 1820's, in the 1830's they whole family moved on to
Adams Co. IL(including ROBERTSON'S, HUGHES, BENNETT, etc). In the 1890's
some of my branch (two doctors) came to NE to practice medicine. Each
of the doctors picked former Adams co. IL belles for their wives. One
TIPTON and the other STRICKLER. The STRICKLERS had also left Adams co
IL, and settled in York co NE. The STRICKLERS were connected to the
BENNETTs, HANSON, JOHNSON, LANCASTER, MARSHALL, MELBERN, ROGERS
families. My ancestor ALBERT REZIN DOWNING and his wife EMMA HOPE
STRICKLER settled in Merna, NE.

By the way I also am a descendant of GER-RUS from Norka, who passed thru
NE on their way to settling in Portland, OR.

Maybe too much information, but then maybe someone will connect.
Have a nice day!
Judy in Oregon City
