Hi Mary,

I don't have any Schofield information on your family. But your
James Lyon has definitely caught my attention.

Just this January the family history boxes were passed down to me.
It was totally unorganized and I have been working full time on
it, in addition to the Internet. Most of it is now in binders.

So far, what I have on my Lyon family is incomplete, and hazy.
My gggrm was Sarah Ann LYON, who died in Stockville, Frontier, NE
11 Dec 1891, the makeshift family chart shows. She was the dau. of
Reason (Rezin) D. LYON and Ann Magdalen MORROW. I been trying to
put the pieces together. Other names include Reason (Rezin) E. LYON,
who was thought dead for forty years. Sarah and her siblings are
listed, from a Bible record, as best as I can tell:

John Morrow LYON, b. 28 Sept 1821
Sarah Ann LYON, b. 29 Jan 1824
Thomas D LYON, b. 1 Aug 1829
William F. LYON b. 20 Nov 1831
Mary LYON, b. 12 Jun 1833
Charles LYON, b. 17 Jun 1837
Edward LYON, 5 Jun 1839
Emery LYON, b. 14 Nov 1843

Another paper has a direct line of descent from:
James LYON, b.c. 1730
Rezin Emory LYON, b.c. 1760
Rezin D(avis)? LYON, b. 16 Dec 1797, Bourbon Co. KY.
Sarah Ann LYON, b. 29 Jan 1824, m. LOCKWOOD

Also randomly mentioned is a "Rev." James LYON, as a
brother of the LYON family, that supposedly m. Sarah DAVIS.
Mattie LYON, in the photo album.
The surname WH*ITE is also in the picture further back.

Another "thing" in the family is the story of a Jefferson Davis
cousin connection, that I haven't been able to find anything on.
I was not left with documentation, references, or in this case,
even a chart. But, if you think there could be a LYON connection,
please let me know, because Frontier Co. corners Hitchcock Co.
where Trenton is. Does anything sound familiar? Could your
James LYON be a descendant of any of these LYONS?
