This was the address of a saloon & residence in the 1903-1906 Omaha
City Directories for my gg-grandmother's brother John WASIELEWSKI and
family. He had a wife Mary (HURT) and children Mary, Sophia, Anna,
Vernie, Amelia and John N. Does anyone know what might be at this
address today?
I would like to find out if the children survived and married and had
children of their own. John Wasielewski died abt 14 Sep 1905 in Omaha.
I don't know where he was buried yet. In 1905, his children ranged in
age from 7 to 24, if they all were still living. According to the 1900
census, six children were alive:
Mary b. 1881
Sophia b. 1883
Anna b. 1886
Vernie b. 1888, m. John NUTOWC, 1907 at St. Wenceslaus in Omaha
Amelia b. 1893
John b. 1897
They might have been married at St. Wenceslaus in Omaha, since Vernie
was married there. But I really have no idea when. Vernie married in
1907, but three of her sisters were several years older... I found no
record of their marriages in Sherman County, where the family lived
before they went to Omaha.
Are there any marriage indices for Omaha catholic churches? Might I
write to the Archdiocese archives? Has anyone done this? Any other
ideas? Where can I write without knowing the marriage date??
Thanks very much,
Laura
