Hi Listers,
I wonder, could SKS on this list please help a genie from Melbourne,
Australia?
For some years now, I have known that I must have some American cousins,
children of my grand uncle Ernst Wilhelm Albertsen and his wife Karen
Jensen (both from Rise parish, on the Danish island of Ærø).
Just this week, I have discovered that one of the sons, my 1C2R James M.
ALBERTSON (birth name Jens Mikkelsen ALBERTSEN) had moved from Logan,
Iowa, to Lincoln, Nebraska. (I had originally found him in Harlan,
Shelby Co., Iowa, in 1895).
He and his wife Edith M. Albertson and 9-year old daughter Dorothy
Elvira were in Lincoln, Nebraska, in the 1920 Census. In the 1930
Census, he is in Omaha, Nebraska, with his wife Edith, daughter
Dorothea, and a grand-daughter, Merrilee (C?) ALBERTSEN, aged 2-1/2.
Can anyone help me trace this family - in particular, Merrilee?
The Social Security Death Index has this near match:
***
Name: Merrilee C. Lascelle
SSN: 395-20-6343
Last Residence: 54561 Starlake, Vilas, Wisconsin, United States of
America
Born: 13 Jun 1928
Died: 2 May 2002
State (Year) SSN issued: Wisconsin (Before 1951 )
***
But, unless one or other of the record is incorrect, this Merrilee is
some 9 months younger than my Merrilee C. Albertson. (Fingers crossed)
;-))
Any assistance gratefully received - I'm happy to share information
about the Danish (and Australian) branches of the tree.
Best wishes,
Lesley
(Melbourne, Australia ... on a chilly autumn day)
