Hi list,

Is there any one familiar with the Wortman name? Back in the 1850's or 1860's, they had a big farm located in the north part of Cass county. I believed they moved to Ashland in 1919 when they bought a house on Ash Street. Today, the big, old stone house they built and lived in, is located just south of Mahoney State Park. I believe 66 divides the house from the park. Also, I-80 cuts through what use to be their farm, on the east side. And the Wortman Cemetery is located on this property where I have 6 ancestors buried.

Would appreciate any one who might be familiar with the name or have any information on this family. I just have bits and pieces from here and there. Would be neat too if there are any "distant cousins" out there.
