Sorry to say I don't have information on the Wortman family. However, seeing
the cemetery mentioned brought back memories. My dad's baby sister is buried
in that cemetery.

I visited this gravesite with a cousin, I¹d heard, as he had, the story
about Ethel being buried under a tree. The cemetery was overgrown with weeds
as high as my armpits. The tree still stands, and under it several small
flat rocks, maybe grave markers. A couple of small crosses marked what could
only be assumed as childrens¹ graves. Their were some names etched in rocks,
which I didn¹t record, as none seemed to be linked to us.
I feel very certain, having heard this same story from so many family
members, we did visit the, unmarked, gravesite of Ethel.

This is my family:

1. William Elza Will WINGET. Born on 11 Jul 1866 in Illinois. William Elza
Will died in Hillcrest Nursing Home, Plattsmouth, Cass, Nebraska on 1 Apr
1951; he was 84. Buried on 4 Apr 1951 in Wabash Cemetery, Wabash, Cass,
Nebraska. Occupation: Farmer.

On 13 Sep 1894 when William Elza Will was 28, he married Edna Pearl RAGER,
daughter of Paul E. RAGER & Mary Caroline SWEAT, in Plattsmouth, Cass,
Nebraska. Born on 13 Apr 1880 in Murdock, Cass, Nebraska. Edna Pearl died in
Ebler Nursing Home, Elmwood, Cass, Nebraska on 9 Sep 1965; she was 85.

They had the following children:
2 i. Ethel Grace (1896-1897)
3 ii. Luther Isaac (1898-1991)
4 iii. Elza William (1900-1982)
5 iv. Otis Warner (1902-1982)
6 v. Daisy Mae (1904-1993)
