These obits are out of the Omaha Excelsior, 1900. Interesting to note when
integrating these with the ones I already have, they sometimes had complete
names when the other papers only had initials. For those interested, we
now
have 48 pages of indexed obits that will be hitting the library later this
month or early next month for 1900 - 1904 Omaha papers. (I know of some
more
that are coming, so am holding off until they arrive.) They often have
quite
a few Council Bluffs and other areas near us in Iowa & outstate NE listed.
The town or cemetery at the end indicates where the individual's the
cemetery
is or where services were held. (Sometimes its both.) For copies, contact
a
_www.RAOGK.com_ (http://www.raogk.com/) volunteer for Omaha, the Greater
Omaha Genealogical Society, or the Omaha Public Library W. Dale Clark
branch
(the library charges $10.50 for a lookup & copy of a single obit, but the
Gen Soc can
cut you a better deal than that...they'll look up several for the same
amount and only 25 cents for the individual copies.) RAOGK volunteers only
charge
what it costs to copy & mail it to you and they only have to do one a
month, so sometimes there's a backlog. You're supposed to be a RAOGK volunteer in
your home area to request lookups (but you can pick and choose what you'll
do for others and state it in your signup.)
Or we'd love to have you visit the W. Dale Clark Library--where we also
have 55% of the released federal censuses and over 8,000 genealogy books, and
over 100 genealogical periodicals. And a lot of historic Omaha area
newspapers on microfilm.
