I am trying to pinpoint the death or divorce of Jacob GOODSON born 1847 in Indiana. He and his family (wife Elizabeth, sons William, Joseph/Jasper, Charles, George, and daughter, Annie) are listed in the census for Cedar Valley Precinct, Greeley County, NE in the 1885 state census. Jacob is again listed in the Greeley County Farmer List for 1890-1891 in Spaulding. However, by the1895 Iowa State Census his wife and five children are living in Van Buren County, Iowa with her parents.

I am more inclined to believe a death rather than a divorce took place between 1890 and 1895 because several of Jacob GOODSON's descendants died younger (his sons Wiliam and Charles died at app. ages 38 and 29, respectively). I have not been able to find Jacob in a cemetery listing for Greeley County, but have not yet checked surrounding counties.

Any information that you can point me to would be appreciated.
