Hello, Charles,
So far, it looks like you and I are the only NEGUS
researchers on earth! You can't find Sally's roots, and
I can't find William's.
My William, so far as I've been able to ascertain, was
born about 1710, perhaps at Marlborough, MA, and married
Persis MAINARD on 10 Feb 1729/30 (Marlborough VR). She
was born at Petersham on 08 Sep 1713 (Petersham VR).
Their children that I know of:
William, Jr., m Elizabeth Smith at S.H., in 1755
(Petersham VR);
Samuel, b 23 Jun 1735 at; (Framingham VR)
Perces, b 04 Sep 1739, (Petersham VR); married Moses
Alvord;
John, b 25 Dec 1740 (Petersham VR);
Joseph, b 28 Nov 1742; m Rosanna Miller, 14 Aug 1765
(Petersham VR);
Martha, b 28 Nov 1744 (Petersham VR);
Lucy, b 03 Dec 1747; m Adam Whitting, 1774 (Petersham
VR);
Silas, b 25 May 1750 (Petersham VR);
Solomon, b 29 Apr 1753 (Petersham VR);
William, Samuel, John and Joseph would fit the time
frame to have possibly been the father of your Sally,
but I have no data on them, or whether they may have
relocated to the Lanesboro area.
Savage lists numerous NEGUS settlers in the Boston area,
but after 1700, info on their descendants gets pretty
scarce. I suspect NEHGS may have more info, but I've
not yet joined to check out their materials.
Let's stay in touch--you never know when that priceless
piece of info may turn up!
