Margaretta Dreyer was born in Ripley Co., Indiana, Dec. 4, 1864. Three months after her birth her parents moved to Ridgeway, Iowa, where she spent her childhood days. On the 7th day of April, 1878, she was confirmed by her uncle, Karl Jungck, in St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church at Ridgeway. In the year 1888 she moved with her mother and family to Rushville, Nebraska, after the death of her father and on the 26th day of Feb., the following year she was united in holy matrimony to J. M. Dreyer. To this union seven children were born, 5 boys and two girls. On the 26th of Feb. 1914, they celebrated the 25th anniversary of their wedding. Though suffering with gall trouble for a short time she had never been sick, until the morning of the 1st day of Dec., when Dr. Crawford was called and an operation found necessary, which was performed by Dr. Whiteman of Omaha. The operation was a severe one, but everything turned out in her favor until Wednesday afternoon Dec. 6th, when wea!
kness of the heart set in, and the same evening at 8:30 she passed away in peace, aged 52 years and two days. She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband, 7 children, her mother, four brothers and two sisters. Services were conducted by Rev. G. Goeken, pastor of the Ev. Luthern church, southwest of town, Sunday, Dec. 10th and the remains layed to rest in Fairview cemetery.
