Subject: [NEW-MEXICO] followup 1850 SANCHEZ-LOPEZ marriage
Date: Thu, 18 May 2000 09:01:03 -0700

Hi,
I checked for the marriage of the parents from my earlier SANCHEZ-LOPEZ
posting (copied below) of a marriage in Socorro from the collection of
Angélico Chávez of prenuptial investigations. There were none in the proper
time period. In scanning of the names in the collection, the earliest
marriage I found in Socorro was 1829. The LDS copy of the regular church
records go back 1821 - there is hope the marriages of the parents are
recorded there.

I happened upon the following marriage which I trust is merely a
coincidence in having the correct names:

1830, April 22, Belen, JULIAN SANCHEZ (25), son of Jose SANCHEZ, deceased,
and Maria Isidora SILVA, and Maria Luisa LUCERO, d. of Salvador LUCERO,
deceased, and Ana Maria FAJARDO-- Witnesses: Pedro Silva (66), Gabriel
Naranjo (38), both married, Jose Ignacio Chaves(30)

The problem being that the marriage is at least four years too late.
