Go look at the FamilyTreeDNA.com website. You can see folk's results by
surname and also get a little family history of where their line came
from. It is my understanding that this is the largest database of DNA
results online. It's extremely interesting. There are also several
RootsWeb DNA groups you can join, including a newbie mail list.
