Hi, Charles

Sounds good, I found that website while looking for exact directions to the Poteet Cemetery.
I wonder if the person who did look at it might be able to give you those.

I don't think there is anything wrong with duplicate postings, usually there is a little something
extra on each one. And it does show that there are a lot of people who care about cemeteries.

Thanks to everyone for all the hard work that has been done with these projects.

Gracie

Gracie,
Hi,
Yes, It looks like Poteet Cemetery has been listed. The webmaster has updated that web site too. Looks nice. Additionally however, I would like photos of the headstones in that cemetery to add to the listing (which we do not have on our site.)

A question was asked why duplicate cemetery listings? Example, I had the Ruidoso Cemetery online for some time with photos. Then a few days ago, the same cemetery listing appeared on the NM Archives and NMGenWeb site. I had the Santa Fe National Cemetery online and five days later it appeared on the NM Archives web.

A similar situation exists in Catron County regarding Apache Creek Cemetery.
I was asked why I duplicated that cemetery. Actually I had not. It was a new cemetery listing with photos.

My goal is to list every cemetery in New Mexico. As a matter of fact, my original Lincoln County NMGenWeb web was the first web site to list a cemetery survey online in that organization. I have not stopped adding them since.

I'll continuing to list cemeteries even if they are listed somewhere else and if others duplicate the ones that appear on our web site. I have offered to share some information, but the answer was not been positive.

But you are correct, Gracie, it has been looked at. It will be looked at again , I hope by one of our volunteers. We are a big state and there is room for many genealogy web sites.

For instance, here is a really nice genealogy web site.
http://www.spanamwar.com/NewMexico.htm
"A list of Spanish American War Veterans buried in New Mexico."
I hope more people produce works like this for researchers. As I said, we are a big state with room for many web sites.

Thanks for the tip, Gracie.
