Subject: [NZ] NZ: Q's WATSON birth-, death & marriage certificates

Dear list- I’m sorry to be such a newbie to research in NZ!:-0

Can someone please tell me if there’s a way to access
birth-, marriage- & death records from afar - Denver -
without paying the official Registry for searches? I’m
assuming it wouldn’t help to ask someone in NZ to go
look for me, as they’ll still have to ask the registry to do
the searches??

My problem is that I’m not exactly sure of dates and that
I’m receiving - and paying - for some certificates that turns
out NOT to be ‘mine’!;-) I’ve emailed the registry, but
haven’t received a reply (yet).

I’m looking for :
1. The death certificate of Robert WATSON:
born 1837 Burntisland Fifeshire, Scotland.
died around 1925 (his grave stone in Kumara
says at 88 years of age) in K.umara (or Dillmanstown).
2. Death certificate of Margaret MCKENNA (WATSON’s wife):
born Armagh, in Northern Ireland. I have NO dates, but
think somewhere 1915-1930? (One day I’d like to look
for a marriage certificate!)
3. Death certificate of Jeanetta Galloway WATSON:
died 9 April 1931, at 66 years of age, in Kumara (or Dillmanstown).
Their daughter.

I’m perfectly willing to pay for these certificates, but would first like
to be sure that they’re the right ones!!

4. Then, the birth certificate I received for Robert William WATSON
(the son of Robert & Margaret above) is a typed document and not
the photocopies of inscriptions I have received before when
requesting death certificates. Can sks please explain to me why this
is and if the original inscriptions still exist? The reason why this
matters to me is that the place of birth for the elder WATSON
is typed as ‘Barntirond’ but I believe should read ‘Burntisland’
and I’d like a look at the original to confirm. Also, he’s written
as been 35 years in 1876, thus born c1841, when I found another
record that has it as 1837. Please advise.

Thank you very much-
Marie in Denver******
