Hello all

Does NZ have a separate marine register for deaths or is it possible to identify them in the normal BDM?

My ggrandfather arrived in NZ alone sometime about 1874 but we have not been able to find how he arrived. At one stage my grandfather told us that two brothers on the voyage with my ggrandfather had died in the Indian ocean and it is understood it was a direct trip without stops. Would a NZ marine death certificate show the name of the ship and latitude/longitude of the death etc.
