My gr grandfather Archibald GRANT arrived in NZ on the 'Silistria" on 1863.
We
believe he came with a brother and there was a F. GRANT with him on this
ship.Family history has it this brother fought in the Maori Wars and there
is indeed an Francis GRANT b. Aberdeen who did fight in the Wars.
Archies brother was Francis William GRANT b Aberdeen, Scotland 1837. Are
there any descendents of this Francis in NZ?
There was another (or the same) Francis GRANT a publican in Milton, Otago
who keeps popping up and l wonder if he is the missing link.
Can anyone help me with solving this problem?
