"I have found that intestate files often have more information than a will.
A couple of mine have given me the names of living children, their ages,
their addresses, their married names. Also where died, age at death,
occupation and the extent of any effects.
Often a will will have been made out years before and might only name one
person, usually the wife and some times children if the spouse was already
dead. If the person left all their estate to an organisation and the will
wasn't contested then you are none the wiser as to names of children,
spouse etc."
