Hello Peter
I know you are probably more interested in the "Maori", but I am interested
in CARR as my Carrs came to NZ about 1876/7 - just guessing because it was
November 1877 that William CARR married Martha MUSSON in Oamaru, NZ. Both
William and Martha were born in Manchester. I have loads of questions that
others may be able to answer or you Peter:
Martha MUSSON born 29 Jan 1851 Manchester was the dau. of Anthony MUSSON and
Martha DAWSON. I can't find anything about Anthony.
William CARR born 30 Oct 1844 Manchester was the son of Alexander CARR and
Agnes WALLER.
I do not know if William and Martha each came out to NZ with their families
or considering their ages, did they travel alone or in Martha's case as a
servant?
If anyone can help me either with shipping lists or information on these
families, I would be very grateful.
regards

Subject: [NZ] SS Maori
I have been researching CARR for some years.
When I was an apprentice, many years ago I worked as an Electrician on the
ship called MAORI built by Vickers Armstrong Newcastle upon Tyne. Princess
Margaret launched this ship in 1953.
My question. Has anyone a picture of this ship which they could scan and let
me have, or does anyone know where I might find the same?
Thanks
Regards
