The 1881 Electoral roll for the Auckland Province is part of the 1881 roll
which we transcribed and have produced for all NZ on microfiche. The index
is alphabetical for all NZ but does not have the freeholders details
included so you need to go back to the original rolls for this
information. However this was the first year all men had the right to vote so
it is an important roll
The index is as I said available on microfiche in most libraries and can be
purchased for $20 for the set from St Johns Branch NZSG Box 74212 Market
Road Auckland. It is part of the set with the 1893 First Women Electors
roll which is also available on fiche. Both sets $30 from the same address.
The other index produced by St Johns Branch is the WW1 index to service
personnel and reservists
