Glenys,

Have a look in the "New Zealand Encyclopedia" (published in 1966, Government Printer, edited by Sir Alexander McIntosh) under architecture, I think, in volume 1, there are pictures of a V-hut in early Christchurch, and the house on which it was modelled in England.

Also look at "Making New Zealand" (published in 1940, Internal Affairs Department, 2 volumes), and in there somewhere is a picture of the V-huts erected for the early pilgrims in Hagley park.
