Just a matter of opinion, but I have always found the style book by Kate
Turabian to be the best of the lot for citing non-text sources.
She has some of the most bizarre examples imaginable, including citing a
non-text sources from non-text sources--just the sort of thing that happens
when one roams the countryside in search of family history.

Hi, I kept this from another list I am on - it might be worth trying your
library to see if they are available. Also, your genealogy program should
take care off all the references once you decided what needs to be shown.

There are two standard works on citing genealogical sources: Cite Your
Sources by Richard Lackey, and Evidence! Citation & Analysis for the
Family Historian by Elizabeth Shown Mills. The former is a little
dated, having been published in 1980 before the PC age. The latter is
very good and has examples of just about every type of source you could
encounter.
