Hello,
I have the 1881 Census, and of the 505 Charles WARRENs included in it, only
2 (father and son) were mariners living in Yorkshire (the county where Leeds
is):
Dwelling: 15 St James Street
Census Place: Holy Trinity, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England
Charles E. WARREN Married 52 Male, born Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England
Relationship to head of household: Head
Occupation: Mariner
Elizabeth A. WARREN Married 42 Female, born Halstead, Essex, England
Relationship to head of household: Wife
Charles F. WARREN Unmarried 23 Male, born Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England
Relationship to head of household: Son
Occupation: Mariner
Ada WARREN 14 Female, born Hull, Yorkshire, England
Relationship to head of household: Daughter
Incidentally, the 1881 British Census is available on line (free) at:
www.familysearch.org The 1901 Census is also available, at
www.census.pro.gov.uk where look-ups are free, but full entries (choice of
typed transcription or image of original) must be paid for, but the charges
don't seem too high.
I hope this is helpful.
Regards,
David Lamb (Paignton, Devon, UK)
