Ah David
I found a sister of my Grandfather who was named as the person to send the
account to.
Previously I was unaware of her existence.
Sometimes even the home address of the deceased can offer a clue.

I have noticed recently a few people searching for Funeral Company
information in the expectation that they will be able to get some personal
information about a family. Because of Privacy Regulations most companies
these days cannot divulge any information at all about client families no
matter how long ago the funeral took place. The most they might be able to
do is to write to the contact person for the arranged funeral to indicate
that an individual has enquired about the deceased person's family. However
unless the death is very recent, contact details are likely to be out of
date, or no longer relevant. Most of the information a Funeral Company
collects about a family is collected on behalf of the Registrar of Births
Deaths and Marriages and such information is passed through to BDM and is
not necessarily retained on file as it is personal information.
