Good points Barry - first learn where the delete key is. If you don't like
it -delete it. Don't waste everyones time by responding.
Not all of us subscribe to magazines and that's up to the editor as
to what they print - but - the general rule is NO ADVERTISING on the mailing
lists. I appreciate there will always be arguements as to what is (is what
is not) advertising but I look at it this way- if someone is advising of a
site where information is available for free - then thats not advertising.
It's the ones who advertise information at a cost who are advertising.
Ancestry.com being the prime culprit.
We must all take some responsibility for what happens on these
lists. So many have lapsed into oblivion because of this very reason. And
here I must have a dig at the list administrator. I have been on some lists
for at least 6 years now and there is no trouble at all - simply because the
administrator (at the first sign) blocks the offender.
I think this has been, and should continue to be, a great list.
Don't get sidetracked. Stay focused on your individual challenge. What would
have happened if nobody had responded to the original offending posting???
Lets get back to genealogy.
