Greetings, from someone new to this list

I'm researching for a friend and I'm looking for any
reference to Edmund Newland and his wife Frances Mary
Holloway.

They married in the South Island (probably the Nelson area)
in 1862, and had two children there: Edmund (1865)and Mary
Ellen (c1866). By 1872 they were in the New Plymouth area,
and had four more children: Edith Minnie (1872), Edward
Henry (1875), William (1877), Frank (1879). When Frances
died he married Minnie Elizabeth Wells in 1885 and they had
Ada in 1886 and Nellie in 1888.

I've been unable to find any information on Edmund senior's
origins, when he arrived in New Zealand, and when and where
he died. A search of the death fiches between 1890 and 1930
has revealed nothing, and there is no reference to his
arrival in the shipping index in the National Archives.

Edmund junior also has a mystery: I can't find any reference
to his first(?) marriage to Louisa Ellen Johns, which would
have been around 1908.

Do these names have any significance for anyone out there?
Or can anyone help with information?

I would be very grateful for any help.

Mary in Taranaki
