Carlina SHREMPF married Thomas GIFFORD at the schoolhouse in
?Kaikuia, Marlborough in 1875. Her mother was my ggmother Mrs
Annie DRAKE (2nd marriage) & was about that time living in
Spring Creek.

1. Please can anyone advise if there is such a place as Kaikuia,
or if it is more likely to be a mispelling of Kaikoura?

2. After the NZSG conference at Queen's Birthday weekend, I will
be stopping in Blenheim to see if I can find more about this
family. What places can I go to in Blenheim that have local
history for that period which may help me find more about these
folks?
