Both OBFUSCATE and OBSFUSCATE were suggested.

My "Collins" has the former, but not the latter.
To obscure or darken, To perplex or bewilder.
>From latin. Fuscare > to blacken. Fuscus > dark

MS Word agrees.

Seems that OBFUSCATE is the winner. only one S.

My guess is that most of us were trying to find a word based on OBSCURE.
