I have just updated my webpages containing the links to NZ council
cemetery websites. Unfortunately no more councils have added their
burials databases, however most now have information online relating to
the cemeteries that they maintain in one form or another. Note that some
of the links that I have included are to large PDF policy files and so
if you have a slow link be careful.

It has been interesting to watch the development of the council websites
over the last few years. When I first started looking, several had no
websites and some were frankly very amateurish. Now they all have
websites and they are all of very good quality. However they are still
good at hiding information and so there is a possibility that I have
missed some links

Only six district councils have no cemetery information - at least none
that I can find: Grey and Kaikoura In the South Island and South
Wairarapa, Opotiki, Kaipara and Papakura in the North. The content on
the sites ranges from simple lists, through to detailed descriptions
including maps, plans and photos, historical info and the burials databases.

I have also continued to update my cemetery list and map, adding some
more sites, eliminating some duplicates and correcting locations (thanks
to everyone who has assisted). For those who haven't visited these
sites recently, I have made them easier to use by allowing you to filter
out and view just the sites you want to see and (in the list) sort it on
any column.

I have also added a new page with the NZ Burials Act, strangely, it is
quite an interesting read!

The visitor rate to the website (KiwiCelts) is steadily increasing (over
20% up last month) with many returning multiple times and so it appears
to be a useful resource, if you have any suggestions for additions or
improvements please let me know.
