Hello List. I have been researching some bankruptcy files at Archives and discovered that the object of my inquiry was a " prisoner of debt" in His Majesty's prison. I would like to know if it is possible to get the prisoner's records to find out more about what happened to him. It dates back to 1869.
His occupation was listed as a Lighterman. While I could make an educated guess, is there anyone who knows what this job involved? Thanks in advance, Margaret
