Subject: [NZ] SCANNING PHOTOS

Possibly "OFF TOPIC"....
I have a large quantity of Family Photo's to scan...Majority are 6 x
4...Some larger...Some smaller....Also some Documents...(Some of these will
be photo-copied)
What is the quickest way to scan...re settings etc...I need to eventually
print most of them...However...In the meantime I need to Scan and SAVE to my
computer..
What is the best "DPI" "Resolutions" etc...
What is OCR?
Do all the settings have to be checked before each scan?
At the moment the photo's are all in Albums....Yes...I realise I have to
take them out!!!
There was a company advertising recently...They would scan, print and save
to disc...any amount of photos...
Their requirements were...
Single, Loose photos...placed vertical in a shoe-box or similar...(For speed
of handling I guess)...In quantities of a 1,000...Does anyone have a contact
for them?
Regards
Scanner novice...
