Adele,
Why is it that shop counter girls prefer to talk amongst themselves about
their experiences last weekend or their plans for next when we are looking
for shop assistance in choosing products to buy?
Why is it that the younger generation are no longer interested in their
surroundings but would rather keep their own company?
Why do the young (including my son) find it difficult to hold a prolonged
conversation with members of the older generation?
Answer: Lack of education mainly at school but also spilling over into the
family home, not only in etiquette and responsibilities to their fellow
citizen but in the whys and wherefores of the general population and the
expectations we, that know better, have and were bought up to believe.
I shudder to think of how savvy and polite the next generation will be
considering the vast gulf that surrounds our children with us now - maybe
the education system should return to some of the basic subjects to prevent
the chasm from further dilation. I wait without much hope!

Good morning folks..
I was emailed the other day for information on Ellen Dougherty, since I hold
my research into this First Registered Nurse in the World, it was for a
student studying nursing, but what riles me, I have to email her after
sending pages and pages, of my research, to get an acknowledgement that she
has received it, it will assist her immensly, as it has for other students
in previous years..
Why must we beg for a thankyou, surely its common courtesy to thank someone
who has done the hard work?
Her excuse, family and busy... hey I have a life too... I firmly believe in
sharing what I have to anyone that requests it, even if it has cost me money
in the past to obtain it, or even to pay these days to check any records, I
never pass on the charges, but would expect a THANK YOU..
sorry for the nag, but ....
